I received the following e-mail from a Roman Catholic Priest in India.
I was quite surprised that my controversial ideas should be so well received by
Catholic clergy. Actually, I received similar e-mails from several priests in
India, but I shall only post this one, since it is the longest and most
interesting.
=====================================
Dear Sitaram,
Thanks for your article, "Suicide Turned Inside-Out". I agree with most of what
you say.
I will now quote those passages which most impressed me:
You observe ".... India has a long history of sheltering peoples of other
religions, and granting them religious freedom."
"... Arab nations, by contrast, have laws forbidding the entrance of various
religious groups, or the building of non-Muslim places of worship.
".... The issue is that all of this will one day escalate into a life or death
struggle, with no holds barred, and biting off ears and noses is perfectly
acceptable. If the non-Islamic peoples of the world one day wake up to the stark
reality of my words, then they may well choose to use genocidal force in the
desperate hope of safeguarding their way of life for future generations. If the
non-Islamic peoples of the world do not wake up to this truth, then gradual
victory over the next hundred years may well go to the
Islamic peoples, who will gradually gain majority in various countries through
the weapons of immigration and overpopulation to gain political majority, all
the while gradually eating away at the resources and stamina of the infidel
through decade after decade of terrorist suicide bombings and guerilla warfare."
(end of quotes)
My comments:
I had awakened to this reality (which you describe so well) many years ago and
was told by my friends that I would suffer because I think too much."
While I have no words of admiration and appreciation sufficient to express my
admiration for what you have written, I will simply tell you that you are a
true prophet. There won't be many listening to you because the world believes in
"INTEREST" AND NOT "TRUTH."
While many religious high priests are busy performing rituals, we need prophets
like you to spread the jewels of wisdom through communication media so that
people take seriously the dangers ahead.
I agree with nonviolence of Jesus and Gandhi. God is Love. God is Truth. God is
Peace.
One simple question: Where was the United Nations, U.S.A. and the West, when the
seed of terror have been sowed in the minds of first graders with words like
"to destroy the infidels is the noble duty of Muslims." When killing others for
the glory of Allah could earn on 72 mansions with 72 virgins in each, one does
not see the reason why not go for "72 X 72." Until there is Petroleum in the
Gulf, the lubricating Islam will be an easy job.
Perhaps, God has to dry the oil-wells in the Arab countries, only then the god
of Violence can be contained.
Political leaders will fight for power and interest. Future of the world is
God's concern. I pray you continue to speak for that God in whom we live, move
and have our being.
God has blessed you with wisdom to speak for him and defend his peace-loving
vulnerable children.
What a big difference since Sept. 11, 2001.
Until then no one could speak a single word against Islam. Now is the time to
discuss common vision and embark on the mission of testing the credibility of
United Nations. How can they vote at the UN while they don't know what freedom
and Peace is?
The preachers who preached violence were paid by the States in Europe. Those who
fed the hungry lion are now paying the price.
Collapse of Twin Towers is the beginning of a new era.
Where will all this lead, and what will happen when the last bomb is dropped and
dust settles? Then begins the new chapter of civilization. History repeats
itself as we don't learn from it.
Personally, my mission is not to solve all the problems but to do what I can. I
ask for serenity to accept the things I can't change; courage to change the
things I can; and the wisdom to know the difference.
I have accepted Jesus to be the model.
Thanks for enlightening us with your vision.
