I just received a nice PM from Rachel at one of the literary forums.
I replied with an invitation to this forum.
In such circumstances, it is convenient for me to add members myself, and then invite them to log in.
One thing I learned is that this forum only allows one member per unique email address. In other words, it prevents you from joining under two different names, using the same email.
There is a way around this.
I simply gave as email address rachel@toosmallforsupernova.org
Now, my site, and many sites, are set up to accept ANY email address, like foo@toosmallforsupernova.org or bananna@toosmallforsupernova.org (you are beginning to get the idea)...
When I register Rachel in this fashion, it works.
It would be covenient if phpBB allowed admins to pre-create memberships, but perhaps they want to prevent Admins from spamming people.
