Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his
ways.-Proverbs 3:31
Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near
destruction.Proverbs 10:14
Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom.-Proverbs 23:4
Hell and destruction are never full: so the eyes of men are never
satisfied.-Proverbs 27:20
Where there is no vision the people perish.-Proverbs 29:18
The first and third ones appeals to me respect for social justice and liberal
sentiments. The second one has been underlined for years, I'm not
certain as to why, but it's a very sensical one. The fourth one shows us
how mankind has a death instinct. Recent events in the middle east and
the world in general bear that point out. When I read it, I can see the
close up of a politicians eye reflecting an emptyness and the politician's
desire to fill hell and destruction with more blood and bodies. The fifth
one is very famous as it's used a lot in contemporary writing and culture.
