shadesofblack_03: The white lotus is a beautiful symbol. White represents multidimensionality, because white contains all the colors of the specturm. That is the mos strange, unbelievable quality about white: it contains all the colors yet it seems to be colorless. But it contains all those colors in such s y n t h e s i s, in such harmony, that they all disappear. They dissovle into oneness and that oneness is white. White represents the ultimate synthesis and harmony...

And the lotus also is a great symbol, particularly in the East... The lotus represents the essential meaning of sannyas. The lotus lives in the lake and yet the water connot touch it. It lives in the water and yet remains untouched by the water. The lotus represents the witnessing quality of your being:

shadesofblack_03: You live in the world, but you remain a witness.

You remain in the world and yet you are not part of it.

You participate and yet your not part of it.

You are in the world, but the world is not in you.

When you become a calm and cool observer of life you are going to laugh not ordinary laughter but a belly laughter like a lion's roar. And white lotuses will start showeing on you.
literarydiscussions: very wonderful!
shadesofblack_03:
shadesofblack_03: Osho..
shadesofblack_03: You know him?
literarydiscussions: yes.. he was quite talented, but one must be careful of his writings... for he abused his talents and harmed young people
shadesofblack_03: He is one of the most misunderstoof and misrepresented people..
shadesofblack_03: misunderstood*
literarydiscussions: in the USA, in Oregon, i think, he had an ashram... and i spoke for hours with a woman who was there for 6 months at age 18
literarydiscussions: the sexual misconduct there was monstrous
literarydiscussions: when I spoke with her, she was much older... but... a sex addict for life
literarydiscussions: and she was on her way to Pune, to the ashram there
shadesofblack_03: But, all he said was that to transcend sex one must accept it as a normal act and move on.... it is that sacred divine energy manifesting itself in a lower form...
literarydiscussions: and she explained that everyone has medical tests for AIDS, and when they are declared safe... then they engage in sexual activity
literarydiscussions: osho was a very dangerous person... but a gifted writer and speaker on spiritual topics
shadesofblack_03: Yes..and, that what I like about him.
shadesofblack_03: His teachings..the way he writes.
literarydiscussions: you see... there is no mother who ever has to scold her child and say..."stop giving all your toys away to the poor children... and please.. eat more candy and stop eating so much spinach"
literarydiscussions: why... because human nature is selfish, and addicted to pleasures...
literarydiscussions: we may learn a lesson from this...
literarydiscussions: the world, human nature, does not need to be encourage by someone like Osho... but rather needs the advice of someone like Ramana Maharshi
literarydiscussions: Osho died of poison, and was involved in intrigues and illegal activities
literarydiscussions: he collected expensive Rolls Royce automobiiles
