Pursuing a Dream but Caught in a Nightmare reminded me of a story I once heard:
A kindly Irishman was strolling along the beach, kicking up pebbles and sand as he went along, just as everyone does, really, well, those that still possess a childlike wonder of the world. Anyway, so it was that he happened to kick up a small, stoppered bottle that tumbled in the air turning several times before landing back on the sand with a plop and thus releasing the stopper.

There was a rush of air and a mighty roar and a shadow passed over the sun. The Irishman looked up suddenly quite afraid as the gigantic form of a genie materialized before him.
"I am free!!! Free at last!" cried the genie" For sevceral moments he praised the luck of the Irishman and thanked him profusely.
"I will grant you one wish" said he to his rescuer
"Just one?" the beachcomber asked "I thought it was three?"
"Then make it a big one"

The Irishman thought and thought. At last he said
"I have never had much luck with women. I have just married for the second time and I would like to do something for my wife that would make her happy. She has always wanted to go to America but she is afraid of flying and boats make her sea-sick. My wish is that you build a bridge from Ireland to America."
The genie laughed, "I am but one genie, do you realize what an impossible task you have set me. Reconsider, ask me another wish."
The Irishman was disappointed but he reconsidered. Moments passed. A smile lit up his face.
"As I said I have never had much luck with the ladies. My wish
is that you help me to understand women."
The genie let out a deep and ponderous sigh.
"Okay! What kind of bridge do you want me to build?"
