I am a beginner, and I am slightly confused as to the following:

I have a friend named Nighthawk. She has joined my forum as the first member.

I have successfully, as ADMIN, made her moderator. I have created a forum for her called Nighthawk.

First question, if I make her the status of ADMIN, does she then have the ability to delete ME as admin. How does that work. DO I as admin have some unique status as founder or owner, which prevents others with admin status from locking me out?

Next question. I want to create a hidden forum, and only have certain members see it and access it. I am a bit confused as to how Groups comes into play with all this.

My purpose in creating this forum is to allow a few Internet friends to join so that we may have literary and philosophical discussions undisturbed.

I am also wondering whether I should somehow change the forum so that no one may join without my approval, since I really only want 10 or 20 people to join.

So, for example, when Nighthawk logs in, I would like her to see a particular forum, and be able to post to it, but if anyone else visits, then that forum will be hidden to them, unless I change their status somehow. Is this where the Groups feature would come in. Is there some way that I would create a forum as hidden, but associate it with some Group, and then add certain members to that group. Or are forums per se not associated with groups, but only with members.

Another way to phrase my question. What is it that I do to make a hidden group visible to someone, or how do they access it.

Thanks

But to answer one question ALL admins are equal. So be wary about who you make admin.

After I posted, I did do a search on HIDDEN and found this good answer

The diffference with Hidden is that users cannot see the existance of the forum if it is makred Hidden and they do not have permission to use it.

Typically mods and admins would be given there own forums that would be private and hidden.

So now I understand that a member with moderator status can see all hidden forums, while a mere mortal member cannot.

It is also good to know that I should not make anyone else admin, for the reasons you explain.

And I am certain that the link you post will answer many of my questions.

This is so exciting for me, to have my own forum. I have spent a lot of time at two different literary forums. The rules there against topics of religion and politics can be stiffling at times. I just want to have 5 or 10 people who share my interests, to converse with me freely. Thanks for your speedy response!
