One Literary Critic on Nabokov: Lolitaliterarydiscussions: oh, there you are
aiden_dream: Hello Sitaram
aiden_dream: how are you?
literarydiscussions: must be 12:30 at night for you
literarydiscussions: it is 4:30pm afternoon here
aiden_dream: yes!
literarydiscussions: i memorized that you are 8 hours ahead of me
literarydiscussions: in iran
aiden_dream: wow intelligent
literarydiscussions: well, i used to have a friend in kuala lumpur which is exactly 12 hours different... which is easy
literarydiscussions: i purchased a wonderful critical analysis of Nabokov's Lolita
literarydiscussions: very insightful
literarydiscussions: Nabokov is one of the most important writers in 20th century
aiden_dream:
literarydiscussions: though he never received Nobel prize
literarydiscussions: but, Kafka, Proust, and others of stature never received Nobel...
aiden_dream: they didnt|
aiden_dream: ?
literarydiscussions: Solzenitzen, when he received Nobel, said that Nabokov deserved it more, and nominated Nabokov, but he never receive a Nobel
aiden_dream: wow
aiden_dream: interesting
literarydiscussions: that is all from the book i just bought
aiden_dream:
aiden_dream: I dont like nabakov much though
literarydiscussions: all the american publishers rejected nabokovs manuscript, and finally Olympia Press in France published it, but they published lots of pornography
aiden_dream: oh interesting
literarydiscussions: although,..... there is not one lewd or obscene passage in Lolita
aiden_dream: I havent read that book
literarydiscussions: the critic also pointed that out
aiden_dream: ?
literarydiscussions: when I was age 10, in 1959, i remember everyone talking about Lolita, and I thought it was a very dirty book...
literarydiscussions: but, now, i read it, and it is something which only a very educated cultured person can truly enjoy
literarydiscussions: so, i laugh at the thought of all those people who bought it to read dirty scenes, and were then disappointed
aiden_dream: hahaha
literarydiscussions: Nabokos is a master of crafting an english sentence
literarydiscussions: the critic points out that at the very sentence level, each sentence is a marvel to behold...
literarydiscussions: which is quite true
aiden_dream: oh yes
aiden_dream: sorry I must sleep now
literarydiscussions: hemingway and others were minimalists, whose every sentence was quite predictable
literarydiscussions: but not nabokov
literarydiscussions: ok... go to sleep
aiden_dream: thank you for bwing here
aiden_dream: and your interesting informations
literarydiscussions: i do my best
aiden_dream:
aiden_dream: thank you
aiden_dream: and be well)
literarydiscussions: i will try to be a little lamp
literarydiscussions: that shines

You have to love Nabokov, the writing is absolutely excellent and the humor!.
The smarting comments about psychoanalysis and Humbert's pursuit of Lo
and Quilty make for a compelling read.
