Preserving these ideas for the future - a dialoguemahendra mishra: hi sitaram
literarydiscussions: yes... hello, nice to see you
mahendra mishra: yes
mahendra mishra: what new things we have in our literary dis
literarydiscussions: here is my latest personal news http://literarydiscussions.myfreeforum.org/ftopic744.php
literarydiscussions: I get a few new members each week.... it is slow, but still, growing, and there is a chance
literarydiscussions: a CHANCE, POSSIBILITY of success for message board
i have seen such empty rhetoric over and over and over, in different arenas, from so many people, over the past 8 years
literarydiscussions: I am sure you are very busy with your career and meetings and duties,... but you should try to gradually read through all my writings, during the next year or two... for the simple reason that you may find many ideas which you can make use of...
literarydiscussions: in your own work... and you do not have to mention me, or give foot notes or credit.... just use the ideas, if they seem of value
mahendra mishra: certainly
mahendra mishra: and the efforts u have started will have a lasting effect i am sure
literarydiscussions: the plain truth is that, one day, in the not distant future, i will be dead, and it seams that no one at all takes enough interest to keep these writings and ideas alive... so they will all disappear
mahendra mishra: and i will surely remember u when i will do some work
mahendra mishra: oh sitaram it is painful
mahendra mishra: pls dont be so futuristic
literarydiscussions: so many young people over the past 8 years have paid lip service to some notion of helping to preserve...
mahendra mishra: at least in indian view death is immortality
literarydiscussions: but... they all become distracted...
literarydiscussions: and everyone has the idea that SOMEONE ELSE will actually do the work
mahendra mishra: i am a person who has given 20 years of mylife in folklore ideas
mahendra mishra: and will be happy to dedicate more of m y time in literature
literarydiscussions: my health and my financial security is very poor.... so it is only a matter of several years before i shall no longer be able to maintain these websites and message boards
mahendra mishra: but in india for small reasons like getting minimum suport from thgovt
mahendra mishra: we fail to pursue our scholarship
literarydiscussions: that is why i am happy even if someone would take my ideas or words as their own... so that they might live on after my death
mahendra mishra: what amount u spnd for maintaing this web site?
mahendra mishra: annually?
literarydiscussions: that is of no importance... even if i spend only $10 per year... once i am dead... or in poverty... then ... there shall be no one to make the effort
mahendra mishra: I spend 2000rupees for asgp
mahendra mishra: annually
mahendra mishra: that is important
literarydiscussions: it is not an issue of money.... it is a matter of finding one warm, living, youtheful person with enough cleverness to do simple internet stuff
mahendra mishra: but one of us will do oit
literarydiscussions: money is totally useless without the person who is dedicated
mahendra mishra: yes
mahendra mishra: ur right
literarydiscussions: you cannot do it unless you master some simple skills of html, ftp, internet... etc and phpbb
mahendra mishra: and the unending effirts tolive meaningfully for literature
mahendra mishra: it is a hard task really
literarydiscussions: there is a tutorial at my site on phpbb...
mahendra mishra: I hardly ever seen during last 6years who really maintain such a web site
literarydiscussions: it is not actually hard... it just takes some time, and some enthusiasm,... will , desire, determination
literarydiscussions: i have done everything on my own...
mahendra mishra: you re doing a great thing for all of us
literarydiscussions: unfortunately, our world is filled with rhetoric... empty words, that people throw out, as if they are solutions or answers
mahendra mishra: and I relyupon yourleadership
literarydiscussions: but it is all empty rhetoric
mahendra mishra: may be
literarydiscussions: you last words .... no offense,... are a prime example.... I tell you i shall be dead soon... and your reply is "i shall rely upon your leadership"
literarydiscussions: so... how are your words a solution...
literarydiscussions: but... it is not your fault...
literarydiscussions: our world conditions us to such empty rhetoric...
literarydiscussions: even christianity and islam are filled with empty rhetoric of promises
literarydiscussions: god will provide, allah is merciful... it shall all work out for the best
mahendra mishra: I cant say
literarydiscussions: do you see? That is more rhetoric
literarydiscussions: of course you can say...
mahendra mishra: yes that type of things are there
mahendra mishra: u r morerealistic
literarydiscussions: you can say, Yes Sitaram, you are correct,.... those words that everyone mouths ARE indeed empty rhetoric... and no solution for actual problems
mahendra mishra: and upright
mahendra mishra: getting words beyond words may be feeling only
literarydiscussions: our foolish politicans in every nation are full of such empty rhetoric of meanings phrases and buzz words
mahendra mishra: and relying upon ones own
mahendra mishra: and may be auto actualisation
literarydiscussions: it is very nice for you to say "RELYING UPON ONE'S OWN".... but when i am dead five years from now... what do those words really mean
mahendra mishra: that is true
literarydiscussions: if you say "i rely upon your leadership" then,... in five years when i am dead, what do those words really mean, and my writing disappear from the internet
mahendra mishra: oh
mahendra mishra: sitaram
mahendra mishra: such thinghappen to me
mahendra mishra: Lauri honko
literarydiscussions: and even those few who are enthusiastic... will say,,..... "oh do not worry, someone shall pick up the ball and run with it"
mahendra mishra: is a professor in Finland
mahendra mishra: he was a strong cultural leader
mahendra mishra: and passed away on 2002
mahendra mishra: august
mahendra mishra: i got a dream
mahendra mishra: andd after some day I got his news
literarydiscussions: you see,... there is enough material in my 8 years of writing for someone to take up the ball and write about it, consolidate it,... tell my story, dramatize it,... and even make it their own... after my death...
mahendra mishra: yes
literarydiscussions: but... you see, people are even to lazy and indifferent to be selfish and greedy and work towards such a self-serving end of editorial work
mahendra mishra: yes
literarydiscussions: and, they are short sighted, because they do not see the potential of taking stewardship of such writings
mahendra mishra: yes
mahendra mishra: livingfor a cause
literarydiscussions: so... with your kind permission, i shall post our edited dialogue... in the hopes that someone shall read it and wake up to what I am saying
literarydiscussions: if you do not object...
mahendra mishra: no not at all
literarydiscussions: since it is only in such living dialogues that my thoughts can come alive spontaneously and find a genuine accurate expression
mahendra mishra: I am happy and amazed with your discussion, since I cant think of with out you
literarydiscussions: and each important idea neads some CONTEXT, some audience....
mahendra mishra: I cant think of any thing which hurt me, like your absence
literarydiscussions: and I CANNOT think of it wihout you... without the context... this is the miracle of DIALECTIC
mahendra mishra: yes
literarydiscussions: which plato discovered and taught to us in his dialogues with Socrates
mahendra mishra: oh
literarydiscussions: OH NOOO...
literarydiscussions: HELP
literarydiscussions: I HAVE LOST ALL OUR TEXT
literarydiscussions: YOU MUST SAVE IT NOW
literarydiscussions: IN YOUR CHAT
literarydiscussions: OR IT SHALL BE GONE FOR GOOD
literarydiscussions: DO YOU KNOW HOW TO CUT AND PASTE
mahendra mishra: i have saved it
literarydiscussions: HAS IT DISAPPEARED ALSO FROM YOUR SIDE?
mahendra mishra: no i have saved
literarydiscussions: ohhh.. then you must send it to me immediately
literarydiscussions: or post it...
mahendra mishra: and will save at last also
literarydiscussions: do you feel comfortable to post it all right now...
literarydiscussions: do you know how
mahendra mishra: but as regard to post i will see
literarydiscussions: it only takes one second...
mahendra mishra: I will do it
literarydiscussions: or please email
literarydiscussions: right now...
mahendra mishra: yes
literarydiscussions: to literarydiscussions@yahoo.com
literarydiscussions: or sitaram@aol.com
literarydiscussions: please
literarydiscussions: you see, such simple skills, as posting and email... plus more skills, are necessary to preserve such writings
literarydiscussions: but if we lack even the most simple of skills,... then all is hopeless
I am age 56. But.... again... this is meaningless....
Suppose i should have 40 more years of life,... and should have adequate financial means.... still and all... at the end of 40 years, i shall die, and if everyone in the world was too lazy to take an interest in these ideas and commit themselves to preserving them, keeping them alive... then... everything will disappear.
so, you see, yet another example of our world's empty rhetoric... to lull ourselves to sleep
one hope for our ideas, for their survival after our death,... is if someone will STEAL THEM,... and use them... and they will enter into general thought and culture... just as if we have infant babies, and we must hope that someone will like them enough to KIDNAPP them, and assure some kind of future
but, you see, such hopes for theft or kidnapping of our brainchildren, means that we have become selfless enough and humble enough to no longer lust after the pride of copyright and credit for authorship and fame and admiration
just as the rainforests slowly but surely disappear with the growth of cities
and, special languages and tales and songs and melodies and costumes and traditions shall disappear, unless someone like you labors to capture and preserve ... and unless some young people take and interest to study and preserve what you have done
literarydiscussions: but... you see how important our dialogue is for both of us
mahendra_ku: take care
literarydiscussions: so that we may place our message and concerns before the eyes of the young people
mahendra_ku: ok
literarydiscussions: and, through dialogue, to DRAMATIZE the situation
literarydiscussions: make it come alive
mahendra_ku: thannk u for a provokingideas
mahendra_ku: bye
literarydiscussions: and the internet shall help us
mahendra_ku: ok
literarydiscussions: for our words enter the search engines
literarydiscussions: and young students will stumble across them
literarydiscussions: and take some interest
mahendra_ku: thatwill be better
