I created two user groups:
Western Religions: Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Protestant, Jewish Reform, Jewish Conservative, Jewish Orthodox, Jewish Hasidic
Eastern Religions: Islam, Hindu, Buddhist, etc...
If you want to see these and access them, you have to join the group, and I have to approve as MOD. I wanted the joining to be automatic, but phpBB does not permit that.
Please give it a try, so I can see how it is working....
It is only by means of usergroups that we can have a large number of forums, but allow users to configer their Forum Index to be less crowded.

Hey Sitaram...just browsing and stopping by here gave me the idea, yesterday...and still today that perhaps I could bring some of the forums at Philosophy Spirit here...Whatdayathink?
I really like the idea, as I want to get rid of a couple of forums over there anyway, and I think I can still use th epowers of persuasion to get the folks that are registered there to come and register here...
