Should a countries development be based on education? Is the teaching of the youth within an economically less developed country the way to encourage development?
I think education should be free. I beleive it is one of the most important things within our short lives, and you exclude a large procentage of the worlds population from further possibilities in life by setting the costs for taking an education to high.

It is quite interesting that Europe and America grew and prospered after things such as retirement pensions, public education, and "safety nets" for people were instituted. Education is an investment that in the short term costs money, but whose profits come back three times the value of the investment. Those measures were opposed vociferously in their day, but now the benefit is painfully obvious. I agree entirely with your assertion. That is a major reason why a lot of nations like China are sending their kids to American colleges and why children from latin nations are flooding into the American k-12 system.
