Here is a neat idea. Let's say that you meet someone in a chat room, and they want to join your forum, but they have difficulty registering and then accessing their e-mail to validate their forum registration.
What you can do is, pre register some temporary screen names, e.g. temp001, temp002, temp003. Assign easy to remember (but hard to guess) passwords like atemp001, btemp002, ctemp003. To register each temporary ID, use some website that will allow any name to come as an email. Let's say your site is hobbyland.org (I just made that up). Then you should be about to fake the email address as temp001@hobbyland.org, temp002@hobbyland.org, etc.
When you give someone a pre registered temporary id and password,... they can log right in immediately. Later, as admin, you can edit their profile, change their email address and their name to what they prefer.
