I did not at all mean for this forum and thread to be about consciousness or the subconscious, but this morning, I noticed something interesting. I took off my glasses and placed them on the table before I entered the bathroom. Then, I wondered, "Why did I do that?" Suddenly, I realized that the bathroom is quite steamy from the shower, and my glasses would have fogged. A different part of my mind thought about that and told me to remove the glasses. Yet another part of my mind had to take a moment to ask why, and then be impressed by the answer.
During the 1970s, Robert Ornstein and Charles Tart were leading investigators of the Psychology of Consciousness. Robert Ornstein wrote a book called "Multimind" to explain, how shall I say this, the plurality of minds in our single brain.
Sort of like the concept of monotheism vs. polytheism, or the political motto, "E Pluribus Unum."
